“The Hotel” – a short story by Leslie Joyner

Ahh, the power of social media!  When I finally conceded and joined Facebook a few years ago, I was delighted to reconnect with an old friend from school, the “fantabulistic” Gina Garufi-Jette.  Well, with great people, come all of their great friends.  I inadvertently became friends with one of Gina’s friends, Leslie Joyner.  Leslie is smart, fun, passionate, and under it all, creative. She paints, draws, writes, cross stitches, among a million other things.  She even gave me a cross-country mint transplant via snail mail when my mint plant died and I was stuck down in Yonkers, NY!  I offered to post one of her stories.  She also drew the accompanying image.  Please give Leslie a few minutes of your time:
