TRAVERSE CITY — A northern Michigan comedy festival has been canceled this winter by organizer Michael Moore, who announced Friday that scheduling conflicts with a beer and wine festival in Traverse City the same weekend forced the move. The 2012 Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival had been scheduled to take place Feb. 10-11, about a month before Grand Rapids LaughFest kicks off March 8-18. Moore said organizers of the Traverse City Winter Microbrew & Music Festival piggybacked off the 2011 event, which drew comedians like Patton Oswalt and Jeffrey Ross, and refused to not “cram their festival into the same weekend” this time around.
